Before training for ordination, Martin Hollingworth graduated from the Royal School of Music
where he studied piano. He performed regularly as a soloist and accompanist.
He was appointed Director of Music at St.Michael’s, Chester Square in London
from 1981 - 83, after which he was invited by the then Archbishop of Cape Town,
the Rt.Revd. Bill Bendyshe Burnett, to work in South Africa. During this time
he ghost-wrote an autobiography for the ex-Springbok cricket captain, Trevor
Goddard, and had a number of theological articles published.
In 1993, he moved to Hong Kong where he lived and worked for nine years and
also published Visions of Discipleship in 1997 and Has God Ruined Your Life
Yet? in 2000.
A recording of his sacramental songs The King’s Arms was released in 1996.
True Myth, (16 classical compositions for piano and The Song of Sonamarg: trio
for oboe, flute and piano) composed and performed by Martin Hollingworth, was
released in 2002.
From 2002, he has lived in the Italian Lakes.
